Something fun for you. Here you can get your personal life expectancy and be reminded that "life is slipping away" in real time :)

We should also keep in mind, like you said, that one-third of this time will be spent in our sleep, and likely more than one-third will be used for necessary tasks or chores to sustain life. Now, of course, sleeping or even toiling for sustenance are of great value in human life, and we certainly should not see them as "necessary evils". However, given they DO use up a big chunk of our life expectancy, I believe it is not inappropriate to mentally adjust our expected length of earthly existence to account for such necessary and sizable time consumption.

That's an interesting site. Though it's only an illustration, it gives us a visual of the "time" of our lives.

They're indeed not evils. People often take sleeps for granted, when it should actually be an integral part of our lives. Having quality sleeping time involves good life management, and it says alot about what we're doing with the remaining two-thirds of the time.

I believe one of the reasons why people don't manage their lives well is because of the lacking of motivation. And the ultimate solution to generate this motivation is to answer the question: "Why do I live?"
